How-to Create the Blue Eye Look

Blue is a beautiful color all year round, deep sapphire for fall and winter and bright cerulean during the warmer months. Sadly, the color acquired a bad rep for makeup, only associated with the frosted eye shadow look of the 70’s.

Here’s how you can incorporate a fresh and flattering blue eye into your modern wardrobe without looking dated.

Begin with flawless and dewey skin! Add Laini Cosmetics BB Cream followed by Sheer Glo Illumination Lotion. Apply the middle shade from the Spotlight palette all over you eye, crease, and lid. Line your upper and lower lids with Laini’s signature Eye Pencil in Moody Blue.  Using the large 01 Powder Brush, apply the deepest coral shade in the palette to the apples of your cheeks. Finish with a swipe of Mascara and nude Lipgloss in Creme Fraiche.  Voilà. By keeping your makeup simple, the blue in the liner will stand out and accentuate your eyes.

This gorgeous summery look can be worn day or night! Leave a comment and let us know what you think.

Fashion Friday – Pink and Red Combo

Happy Fashion Friday! Continuing with the Valentine’s Day theme, we are focusing on a stunning fashion look that is sure to wow any date!

Combining bold red and pretty pink may seem like an unlikely pairing, but it is actually a fierce duet that anyone can wear.  Be sure to choose shades that complement the undertone whether cool or warm, in other words do not pick a red and pink that are two similar. The contrast should be apparent to enjoy the full effect. Try wearing this gorgeous pink silk bodysuit from Bebe with these poppy red high waisted flared pants from Alice + Olivia.

Finish this show-stopping look with a pair of sky-high Christian Louboutin heels in red patent leather.

Laini Cosmetics has the perfect lipstick to complete this look, Intoxicate, a lovely and vibrant fuchsia, which can be pre-ordered now at

For those of you interested in incorporating this look slowly, add accessories into your wardrobe like this red and pink Gucci shoulder bag with gold embellishments.

Stay tuned next week for an exciting Gift with Purchase offer! Have a wonderful weekend!

Fashion Friday- New Year’s Eve

Happy Fashion Friday! It’s almost time to ring in the new year with lots of sparkle!  Champagne, Prosecco, Auld Lang Syne, and of course a fierce new outfit are on the menu!

Perfecting your look as the clock counts down can be tedious when your silhouette includes hair, makeup, dress, shoes, etc.  Laini Cosmetics has a variety of looks to spark the imagination and offer insights as you shop.

First and foremost- remember that New Year’s Eve will be cold and you do not have to sacrifice your look to stay warm. Try choosing a chic wrap or heavy stole to enhance any holiday ensemble.

For a simple, modest look with a little flair, choose a LBD with long sheer sleeves. This Karen Millen floral lace dress is a beautiful option.

The fashion risk taker may want to stand out from the crowd in a sea of black dresses. In that case, try a striking red jumpsuit with tie waist from Bebe.

A white ethereal crepe gown from Halston is a unique option that is sure to wow as you glide across the dance floor!

An off the shoulder cocktail dress by Milly with stunning cascading bell sleeves is the epitome of silver sophistication.  Apply Laini’s Bronze Baby or Sheer Glo to your decollete and shoulders for the ultimate bronze and/or glow to your skin.

Laini Cosmetics recommends emphasizing eyes with heavy black and silvery smokey eyeshadow. Apply the Silver Linings palette for the perfect New Year’s Eve makeup. Finish this stunning look with the new metallic lipstick in Night Fever. This metallic matte veil will enhance your lips and make it impossible not to share a kiss after the countdown!

Have a wonderful weekend and please leave a comment to let us know what your outfit plans include for the upcoming holiday!

One Dress, Two Ways to Wear

The entire team at Style with Laini and Laini Cosmetics hopes you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, filled with friends and family.

Now that Turkey day has passed, the holiday parties will be in full swing from work to social. Finding the perfect dress or outfit can be challenging let alone finding a few that suit each occasion.
We have an idea to alleviate some of the time and frustration of shopping for multiple looks! Try shopping instead for one look with many possibilities. A dress that is work appropriate that would also look stunning for a party with friends. Once you have the dress, search for accessories that will change the look.
If the dress is short sleeved or sleeveless, buy a couple of options to cover your arms. Make a statement with a fur collar coat or an intricately designed cardigan. Both will completely change the look of the dress. Tights are another way to create the illusion of two looks; patterned or plain depending on the event.
Here is an example of one dress, two ways to wear. Begin with this gorgeous draped neck satin dress by Halston Heritage.  Add either a statement coat with a detachable fur collar  or a black and white jacquard cardigan
As for makeup, choose palettes! This will offer the most options to create multiple beauty looks. We recommend Laini Cosmetics Independent palette, which offers eyeshadow and blush. Each shade is more beautiful than the next and incredibly versatile. Consider the same theory when deciding on lipstick. Try either Laini Comsetics Bad Girl lip palette or Wine Not, both range from subtle to bolder shades perfect for any party and are designed to pack perfectly in a chic clutch or structured bag!
